Daniel's 1st Day at Home

So we were back at home! To my amazement, everybody came over (everybody means Shyan, Fen, mother-in-law, Kim, Winnie, Chen Ku, Ha Ku, Melvin, Ivy, Joseph, Jeremy, Kim, and baby Xing Ning). It was Deepavali, so a holiday for everyone! They came over to:

  • walk my dog
  • remove my carpet
  • vacuum the floor
  • mop the floor
  • unpack all the baby products (e.g. steriliser, warmer, milk bottles)
  • prepared the herbal bath
  • cooked my lunch

They made our house sparkling clean! It was a gotong royong effort. Many thanks to them. ZX and I were napping in our room. We were just dead tired while baby is sound asleep on a swing. Xing Ning was really adorable. She likes to play with Daniel and wanted to rock him on the swing; which made my heart skipped a beat when she became a bit too daring.

Xing Ning trying to wake Daniel

Evening came. So far so good. Daniel will wake up when he wants to be nursed. Apparently, he doesn't like the cot. Whenever I put him down he would wail. Maybe it was because I couldn't really bend down to the cot (the wound still hurt) so it was not a smooth decent for him.

Trying all methods to soothe him

But who's gonna sleep in the baby room with him? Tired Daddy? Or recovering Mommy? So we decided Daniel would sleep in our bedroom tonight. It was HORRIFYING. Of course it was sweet to see him fall asleep...

Darling Daniel...

But throughout the night, he woke up 4 times! He had to be carried, sung to, nursed... then he would fall back asleep. Not so darling anymore... The room could not be pitch dark else I wouldn't know if there's anything wrong.

True colours...

To sum it all up, the first night can be pictured as below:
